Property Location   To leave Port Elizabeth and head towards Grahamstown, one should follow the N2 while bypassing the town of Colchester. Eleven kilometers after Colchester, they should use the left lane to take the N2 ramp to Grahamstown. Continuing on the N2 for another 17 kilometers, they will find the R342 turn-off on the left, which leads to the Shamwari Private Game Reserve. After traveling 7 kilometers up the gravel road, they will enter through the gate of the Shamwari Private Game Reserve to reach the Welcome Lounge.  Amenities   During South Africas summer season, Shamwari Private Game Reserve enhances its offerings by introducing the Explorer Camp. This unique experience invites guests to embark on a guided walking safari through the surrounding landscape, providing an intimate connection with nature. The camp emphasizes a return to simplicity in travel, embodying the core values of their safaris while offering an enlightening encounter with the wilderness. The itinerary for the wilderness bush camp includes a minimum two-night walking trail, available on Tuesday and Wednesday, or Friday and Saturday, with an optional third night on Sunday. The camp operates from September to May. While the Explorer Camp is discreetly fenced for safety, it retains an authentic explorer atmosphere. The tents are positioned close together without compromising each others privacy, nestled on a plateau amidst unique basalt and granite formations at Shamwari, creating a truly enchanting environment.
